Our Blessed Hope (Titus 2:13)

Glory be to God

Our Blessed Hope

"Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;"  Titus 2:13

In our Christian life it reminds of two things in which we are waiting. We are not only waiting for the glorious appearing of our Lord, we are waiting for the blessed hope as well. Our blessed hope is that in the glorious appearing of our Lord we will be glorified by becoming like our Lord; for that we shall see our Lord as He is (1John 3:2-3). That is at His coming they that shall only see Him will become like our Lord. Therefore in our life let us live being strong and of a good courage. As Philip saith "shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us" it  should happen for us to say it is enough for us to see Jesus alone in our life (John14:8). A person who have this blessed hope in Jesus will be purifying himself as Jesus is pure (1John 3:3). Job who received testimony from God a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God and escheweth evil, the uprightness of his ways is his hope in his life (Job 4:6). Therefore Job in his life says with confidence when His redeemer is revealed he shall see for himself and his eyes shall behold the Redeemer and not another (Job 19:25-27). By understanding in what state we shall see our God thereby correct us then we too shall see our Redeemer the great God.

Firstly,Jesus says blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God (Matthew 5:8). When we say pure in heart it shows the relationship between us and God. Man will see outwardly accordingly his eyes see. But our Lord God sees our heart (1 Samuel 16:7). In further man will see another man according to his heart (Proverbs 27:19). He that got jaundice will see everything yellow as such. Therefore it is possible only for God to search and know this deceitful and desperately wicked heart none else can know it. God searcheth the heart and trieth the reins and know (Jeremiah 17:9-10). Not only that God searcheth all hearts and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts (1 Chronicles 28:9). In our christian life through baptism we receive remission of sins and when we receive anointing of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:28). God who knoweth our hearts sanctify our hearts by faith bare them witness giving them the Holy Ghost (Acts 15:8). Continually we ought to live with pure heart and good conscience before God (1Timothy 1:5).

But like Adam if we cover our transgressions by hiding iniquity in bosom (Job 31:33) or if we live by regarding iniquity in heart (Psalm 66:18) Jesus says that which proceedeth out of heart will defile us (Mark 7:21). None that worketh abomination enter into the everlasting kingdom of God (Revelation 21:27). Therefore as David who commit sin against God blot out all his iniquities prays create in me a clean heart (Psalm 51:9-10) even so let us pray too. Then having our hearts sprinkled by the blood of Jesus by purging from an evil conscience (Hebrews 10:22). Our God forgive us our sins by removing us from all unrighteousness and the blood of Jesus cleanseth us (1John 1:7,9). Since our God sanctified our hearts we can say we are pure from sin (Proverbs 20:9).

But if our heart is not right in the sight of God (Acts 8:21) since we are not washed by our Lord we will not have part neither inheritance with our Lord (John 13:8), we will perish. Sometimes before the sight of men we might seem to be religious able to stand before the Lord accounted worthy to be taken up at the rapture. But our God who sees our heart find if our heart is not pure in His presence, He will not choose us for that chiefest position but reject us (1Samuel 16:7-10), we will be left behind. Jesus says for out of the abundance of heart speaketh mouth (Matthew 12:34). Therefore from the heart that regard not iniquity (Psalm 66:18), hearkening unto the prayer that goeth not out of feigned lips (Psalm 17:1) our God makes us worthy to stand before the Son of man (Luke 21:36) we will see our Lord God.

Secondly let us with zeal follow peace with all men and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14). Here it shows the sanctification between us and others. Often we'll have the state of doing evil to others thereby other men turn to become our adversary. Because of which we are in the state of having guiltiness living as if imprisoned by the judge (Matthew 5:23-26). If we have grieved others by our words deeds or in any other way it should happen for us to ask pardon for reconciliation. As such after being reconciled we need to come to God's presence (Matthew 5:24). On the other hand if someone ask pardon concerning their faults we must wholeheartedly forgive them. No matter how many times it might be if they say they repent then we must forgive (Luke 17:3-4). Only if we forgive others wholeheartedly then our God will forgive us (Matthew 18:35).

But few are there who show vanity with his neighbour speak with flattering lips and with double heart (Psalm 12:2). Outwardly in sheep's clothing but inwardly they are ravening wolves (Matthew 7:15). They inwardly regarding very wickedness against their brother but they flatter with their tongue (Psalm 5:9). With lips speak sweetly like honeycomb and smoother than oil. But in the end is bitter as wormwood sharp as a twoedged sword thereby they become like those who do evil (Proverbs 5:3-4). But when the time comes as we have done our God will do unto us (Obadiah 1:15) if Almighty dealt bitterly (Ruth 1:20) for sure our life will be miserable. Therefore let us not have any bitterness with anyone and live without doing no harm ( Colossians 3:19). Then it is possible for us too to reach God's presence (Psalm 15:2-4). As Jehu asked Jehonadab let it happen for us having right heart, state of heart with thy heart (2 Kings 10:15). Believers in the initial period of the Pentecostal churches when they see one another they shake their hands one with another saying Praise the Lord their rightful heart shows oneness in the fellowship. Let us live even today by sanctifying our heart by following peace with one another. As such if we live with perfect heart then our God will be pleased in us (1 Chronicles 29:17).

Apostle Paul who tarry with desire for the resurrection exercise to have always a conscience void of offence toward God and man because of his hope (Acts  24:15-16). It is because daily in his life it was possible for him to walk before God with good conscience (Acts 23:1). Since God is Almighty God He wanted Abraham to walk before God and be perfect in order God to work for Abraham (Genesis 17:1).Therefore let us always exercise to live having a conscience void of offence toward God and man. If then before God we could see they having pure heart and good conscience (1Timothy 1:4). Thereby we are not only sanctified by God but also receive justification by God (1 Corinthians 6:11).The sanctified ones thereby no one can lay any charge neither condemn judgement such ones God chooses and justifieth (Romans 8:33). Therefore we to see His face in righteousness let it happen for us to be worthy to awake in the resurrected morning to behold his likeness (Psalm 17:15).Thereby in order we to see Him and become like Him at the coming of the Lord so that we might live with that blessed hope let our Lord God to help all of us and prepare.
